The Visakhapatnam-class Destroyer is a modern, stealthy guided-missile warship of the Indian Navy, built by Mazagon Dock Limited as an improved version of the Kolkata-class Destroyers. It is equipped with advanced, indigenously developed weapons and sensors, including the BrahMos supersonic missile and the Barak 8 surface-to-air missile, making it a versatile platform for multi-mission roles like anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine warfare. The ships have enhanced stealth features, a modern combat management system, and can operate under nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) conditions.
