It is a point-detonating fuze with a delayed action and is used for 30mm ammunition.

The fuze is designed for 30mm HE (high-explosive) and HEI (high-explosive incendiary) ammunition used by armored fighting vehicles, air defense systems and attack helicopters
The A670M is a mechanical, nose and point-detonating fuze with a time-delay feature. It incorporates a self-destruction mechanism.
The fuze has a time delay of 0.002 to 0.004 seconds upon impact. This is suitable for penetrating lightly armored targets before detonation
The fuze arms at a distant range, between 20 and 100 meters from the gun muzzle. It is armed by the combined effects of setback forces (the inertia created by the acceleration of firing) and rotational forces as the projectile spins.
For added safety and to prevent unexploded ordnance, the fuze has a self-destruction feature that triggers after a specified flight time, ranging from 9 to 14 seconds
