The DSVs with blue water capability is meant for deep sea diving and submarine rescue operations.
Vessel is capable of transiting on all headings upto Sea State 7 and will undertake diving operations upto Sea State 4. In addition, the DSVs are capable of sustained patrolling and Search & Rescue operations.
The mission specific equipment on board includes two 6-men Re-Compression Chamber complex, a Submersible Decompression Chamber (SDC), Diving Bell and a Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV).
Diving operations are also supported with a ROV and side scan sonar.
Serve as βmother shipsβ for Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicles (DSRV), providing a crucial role in submarine rescue missions and facilitating the rescue, recovery, and transfer of submarine crews.
Shipis also capable of undertaking helo operations with ALH/NUH. DSVs are equipped with dynamic positioning systems (DP) to hold position precisely in challenging sea conditions, which is vital during diving and rescue operations.
