This Fast Interceptor Boat (FIB) is capable of performing high speed pursuits and interception in various border protection roles including anti-smuggling, anti-infiltration, fisheries, patrolling immigration and anti-terrorism activities. The vessel can also be used for search and rescue operations. The boat hull is constructed making use of most advanced FRP construction technology i.e. Infusion technology, thus giving the boats the advantage of longer life, higher strength, light weight and increased speed while saving on operating costs. The FIB is capable of surviving at sea state 6 and capable of withstanding 4G acceleration and is a manoeuvring marvel which can withstand rough waters and choppy seas. Even at its top speed, it can be brought to a grinding halt within seconds.
