Product Description

The DFDR system provides the functionality of a Flight Data Recorder (FDR), a Cockpit Voice recorder (CVR) and an
Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) in one combined system. The DFDR System is comprised of a Crash hardened, Radio
Transparent, Aerodynamically shaped Deployable Beacon Aerofoil Unit (DBAU) and other LRUs Viz Energy Storage Unit
(ESU), Cockpit Control Unit (CCU), Release unit with Mounting Tray and crash sensors. The DBAU detects the onset of
crash via different sensors installed on aircraft and automatically deployed from aircraft .Once deployed, it begins to
continuously transmit its accurate location/ identification at the emergency frequencies of 121.5 MHz and 406 MHz. This
deployment can be caused by fracture of Frangible Switch, the detection of depth of water by the Hydrostatic Switch, or
manually through use of the guarded “Deploy” switch on the Cockpit control unit (CCU).
