The bomb body is engineered with a streamlined shape to minimize drag, allowing for high-speed carriage and release from modern fighter aircraft. It is designed for speeds up to Mach 1.1.
The bomb body can be fitted with different tail units depending on the mission profile:
Used for strategic, high-altitude bombing missions.
The empty bomb body is designed to be retrofitted with precision guidance kits, converting it into a "smart" munition.
For the 450 kg HSLD, the precision-guided variant uses a Smart Tail Unit (STU) with GPS and an Inertial Navigation System (INS), along with a nose extension unit housing a laser seeker.
