Product Description

An Extended Range Full Bore (ERFB) shell is a 155mm artillery projectile designed for longer range and higher performance compared to standard shells. It achieves this through a "full bore" design, which means it is the same diameter as the gun's bore, reducing drag. Many ERFB shells are also equipped with a base bleed (BB) unit, a small canister on the base that produces gas to fill the low-pressure wake behind the shell, further reducing drag and increasing maximum range.

Features/Roles/Variants of the product
Uses a boat tail (BT) for reduced drag, a streamlined shape and "nubs" instead of a traditional bourrelet to support its flight down the barrel.
Achieves extended range compared to standard shells through its aerodynamic shape and is designed to be accurate at long distances
Capable of achieving a maximum range of up to approximately 38 km, depending on the gun and other factors
Primarily used for high-explosive (HE) targets, such as infantry and soft material targets and is compatible with various 155mm artillery guns.
Differs from the ERFB-BB (Base Bleed) version, which uses a chemical gas generator to further reduce drag and achieve an even greater range.
